Our classes are designed to help our students reach their fullest potential as a dancer. Beginners are taught the basic skills which are the essential building blocks of Irish Dance. Repetition and drills will reinforce these basic skills and new material will be added as the individual dancer progresses. In addition, students will learn the difference between the various types of Irish Dance as well as the different tempos of Irish Music which is also very important to the success of the dancer. Students who show an interest and ability have the opportunity to enter competitions called feisanna but we also cater to the dancer who just wants to enjoy the social and cultural aspects of Irish Dance. There are plenty of opportunities for performances for all levels of dancers throughout the year Classes are currently held on the following evenings: Tuesdays: Classes held in Historic Fallsington American Legion Post 834 300 Yardley Avenue, Fallsington PA Thursdays: Classes held in Levittown American Legion Post 960, 1537 Woodbourne Road, Levittown Pa Class Schedule for Fall Semester 2007 Tuesday Evening 4:45 to 5:30 Beginners I 5:30 to 6:30 Advanced Beginners 6:30 to 7:30 Intermediates 7:30 to 8:30 Prizewinner Prelim Performance 8:30 ---sets and solos Thursday Evening 5:00 to 6:30 Novice 6:30 to 8:00 Prizewinner Preliminary Champion 8:00 to 9:00 Adults Additional class information for Parents All students will be expected to wear shorts and a tee shirt during class, and bring a water bottle. Students are also expected to have the proper footwear in class. No dancing in socks or bare feet. Sneakers are fine for beginners, but when the time comes to purchase dance shoes please see me first so that I can help you with sizing. Having shoes that do not fit properly is just as bad has not having any shoes. Also, check in the used shoes bag first, you might find a bargain! We want all of our dancers to enjoy class to the fullest and have fun, so disruptive behavior, damage to hall property, disrespect to the teachers, assistants or other students will not be tolerated. Except for the first class for beginners, parents are not permitted to stay in the hall during class. If you have any questions that the class parent cannot answer, please try see me either before class or after, so that I do not have to take time away from the student's lessons. Newsletters will be available on the parents desk in class on occasion, but for any info that we feel is important to you this website will be the main communication vehicle aside from e-mails . Please check here for current info, and please include current email address on registration form. If there is every any question about class being cancelled due to inclement weather the information will be posted here on the School News page.
